Recent Hotel Ametyst Review: "I read a number of other reviews before choosing this hotel. A lot complained about the location and a lot complained about poor choice for breakfast. I would not agree with either of these - the hotel is 10 mins walk from the metro or 5 mins walk from the tram. You can also walk to the main attractions in about 40 minutes. There is a large choice for  breakfast and it certainly kept us happy. The hotel itself is located in a quiet area of the city - perfect for families like us. You also benefit from having a large number of non tourist bars and restaurants locally - no inflated tourist prices to worry about. Rooms are great - nicely sized with flat screen tv's including English channels. There is no bath but the shower is powerful and modern."

    Founded in 1348 by Charles IV and redeveloped in the 19th century, the New Town originally played host to Prague’s craftsmen and tradesfolk.
